FOMO: Not Just for Adults Anymore!
Babies Can Experience FOMO Too
What is FOMO?
FOMO stands for fear of missing out. It's a common phenomenon among adults, but did you know that babies can experience FOMO too?
FOMO describes kids or adults who have intense emotional reactions to being separated from the group. They may feel anxious, stressed, or even panicked when they're not around other people.
FOMO in Babies
FOMO in babies is often called "separation anxiety." It's a normal part of development and typically starts around 8 months old.
Babies with FOMO may have trouble sleeping, eating, or playing when they're not with their parents or caregivers. They may also cry or fuss excessively when they're left alone.
How to Help Babies with FOMO
There are a few things you can do to help your baby overcome FOMO:
- Spend plenty of time with your baby and make sure they feel loved and secure.
- Gradually introduce your baby to being alone for short periods of time.
- Create a consistent routine for your baby so they know what to expect.
- Talk to your baby about FOMO and help them understand that it's okay to be alone sometimes.
